Lacoste, Provence, France
"La Cigale" is set in a peaceful and secluded position, yet close to the fortified village of Lacoste, with its cafés, local restaurants, bakery and post office, and only six kms from Bonnieux and Menerbes, two of the most celebrated villages in the region.  During July each year, the Festival of Lacoste offers magical summer evenings enjoying a series of concerts and recitals organized by Pierre Cardin and Eve Ruggieri.

The house is perfectly located to explore the many attractions of this spectacular region, including other nearby hilltop villages within the Luberon Natural Park such as Gordes and Roussillon, and towns such as Avignon, Aix-en-Provence, Arles, and St. Remy de Provence.  Every day of the week there is a Provencal market to visit where one can buy fresh local products and often see a famous French actor or actress.

Further afield, the city of Marseille is within easy reach, as are the Camargue and the beaches of the Cote d’Azur.  The region boasts excellent wine cellars, with the vineyards of the Luberon, Cotes du Ventoux, and Chateauneuf du Pape also within easy reach.

For the evenings, there is a wide selection of excellent restaurants serving Provencal and French food.
